Year One Home Learning - to be handed in Monday 24th March

Reading

Please ensure you are reading with your child as much as possible, this is the gateway to all learning!

The reading challenge is a hit and the children are coming in so excited and proud when they have completed it for the week. Thank you for the teamwork on this.

Following our phonics sessions this week - thank you to all that joined us - I have put some QR codes in homework books this week, this isn’t all for you to do in one week! It is just to help out with any sounds that your child might struggle on and it is good for you to see how it is taught in school. We teach it the same in school as they teach it on the videos.

Spellings

Our spellings for this week are :

  • where

  • when

  • why

  • who

  • how

  • here

  • put

  • pull

  • push

  • full

We are repeating lasts weeks spellings as we had some mistakes on our test and I want the children to have lots of confidence in the next one!

Read, cover, write, check.

Maths

Please keep playing the maths hub games any chance you get to fully instill the children’s fluency.

We have now finished learning about time! Can you put your knowledge to the test by finding the correct times on the clock? Can you draw the clock hands accurately?

English

We are reading Peter Rabbit! Are there any questions you would like to ask Peter? What would you like to know about him?

What things do you need to write a question accurately?
