Miracles have been at the heart of our RE studies this week. We have explored the Calming of the Storm and the Healing of the Paralysed man. Faith is at the heart of Jesus’ response to those around him. He shows how much he loves us and how close he wishes to be. We have used the story of the storm as our inspiration for our class assembly. We practised on Thursday and Friday and we have promised to know our lines for Monday so we can have a c final run through on Monday morning. You will notice too, in our assembly, that we now know all the names of the disciples something we loved learning. We are missing Daniel terribly in class but he popped in on his birthday and we got to sing to him! We all love you Daniel! We did film the singing to send you earlier in the day - here it is!
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
We’ve been writing all on our own this week! After reading and reading about penguins we were ready to write our own factual text! We have worked hard to include new vocabulary (colony, aquatic and blubber) and the subordinate conjunction because. We have used our phonetics for spelling, used cursive handwriting and practiced each sentence before we wrote it- super effort everyone! In maths we have bridged over different tens boundaries - tricky. Miss Woodend joined us on Tuesday and she had a wonderful time, she was so impressed with our independence and focus! In spelling we have read and spelt words ending in le and then taken away le to make adjectives with the suffix ly - for example: cuddle became cuddly. In Geography, we joined the Massi people of Kenya - we learnt the word “native” and celebrated the way others adapt and lives. Miss Basset has loved PE and her computing lessons are always a creative success. RE and the assembly have taken time but you’ll see, when you come, just how well we can work as a team.
