Year One Home Learning - to be handed in Tuesday 22nd April

Reading

Please ensure you are reading with your child as much as possible, this is the gateway to all learning!

Keep using the QR codes at home. I have sent home (lots) more this week for you to practise over half term. Please don’t feel that you need to go through every single QR code, I don’t expect you to, it is just a little booklet of things that will help if you feel that you need it. The screening is just around the corner, so any extra work will only benefit the children.

Spellings

Our spellings for this week are :

  • could

  • would

  • should

  • other

  • mother

  • brother

  • some

  • come

  • are

Read, cover, write, check.

Maths

Please practise the formation of numbers with your children this half term, lots of numbers are still being written the wrong way so hopefully the repetitiveness of the sheet will help you with that!

English

Similarly to maths I am focusing a lot on handwriting and letter formation again next half term as I would like the children to start writing in cursive ready to join it together in year 2.

If you feel that you want to do any extra work, the 40 common exception words that your child must be able to spell by the end of year one would be really beneficial.

Thank you so much for your support this half term! Please enjoy a well deserved and well needed break with your families.
