Year 2 weekly Blog 1st December - "Hope, Peace, Joy and Love"

Advent has arrived - with great anticipation. I believe a number of naughty elves have arrived in your homes! In school the children have been working incredibly hard on their nativity. We are deepening our understanding of the Christmas story and all those involved. In RE we continued to focus on the faith and love of Mary and Joseph as they journey towards Bethlehem. As always the children wrote private Advent promises and we have explored what the Advent Wreath symbolizes for Christians. In class we have a calendar made of envelopes counting down this special season. Inside each envelope is an act of kindness - we will endeavor to complete this act each day knowing we are doing this for Jesus - waiting once more for his arrival.

Magic Moments

We have been writing the wolf’s diary in English and end the week in Maths measuring items around the classroom. We have made some Decoration for class - but they are all mathematical - the children had to make chains and tree leaves in tens and ones!!! We continue with Florence Nightingale designing a plaque for a statue - What was her greatest achievement? Mrs Maano is delighted with our Spreadsheet work on the computer!!!

Christmas cards

Each Year cards are shared with friends - as a sustainable and inclusive school we ask children to make one card for the whole class this can then be displayed - thank you
