A little thank you for a lovely calm return to school

Dear parents and children,

Thank you for returning to school so enthusiastically. It has been a pleasure teaching you. Even though we have only been in school for a couple of days, we have managed to complete several learning tasks including a reading and maths assessment. It is good to know where we are starting so we can celebrate all the progress we will make in the next few months.

I have set homework for this week - but I have sadly forgotten to hand out the homework books for decorating!!! They are still here in class. I will make sure I hand them out next week and then give you extra time to complete this task.

We will be swimming next week on Thursday morning. Graham (swimming instructor) will be coming to explain the expectations/rules and skills which will be covered in the next 12 weeks. After this on Monday evening, I will create a new post on our class blog explaining everything you need to know. What I do already know is that the lesson starts at 9am. It is therefore necessary for the whole class to come to school every Thursday morning for the first gate opening time of 8:40- the children will come into class- register -and immediately walk with their teachers to the coach. Girls will require swimming suits (no bikini or tankinis) and boys require swimming trunks (not shorts). Children with long hair have to wear a swim cap - which needs to be worn to school (it is impossible for teachers to help with this - it is super tricky). In addition, all long hair remains dry and swimmers are free from any entanglement. Children will come straight out of the pool to change - no toiletries are required. We return to school for play at 10:20am.
