‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go’
Dr. Seuss
What a very busy week! I’m sure there will be lots of tired children this week I know myself and the EYFS team are. We discussed Lent and what happens on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday and how it is celebrated all over the world. We attened Mass with our Year 6 Buddies and thought about the acts of kindness we could do to raise money in our Lenten Boxes over Lent. Thank for for the effort you put in the children loved giving their partner their Lenten box and they were all so happy to recieve theirs. There have been a few children off ill so please don’t worry if your child has not brought their box home yet. They will swap them as soon as possible.
What have we been learning this week:
Wow! What a performance on Tuesday we only had a few days to practice in the hall, they were excellent I am so proud of all of the children it is hard performing infront of friends and families. thank you for practicing their lines at home it made a huge difference as all the children were confident and remembered.
As it has been such a busy week we have not been able to start our Phonics in our groups, we have reviewed our sounds whole class. Don’t forget to watch the videos at home. We have enjoyed playing games on our interactive screen. Phonics Bloom and Phonics play have some great games that are free, have a look at home.

PE: we loved our PE session on the field, we practiced our rolling and throwing skills and we worked together in a team. We have swapped our PE with Year 5 so we don’t miss out as we are going to the library next week our PE will be on Monday and Friday.
Wednesday Workout: It was such a lovely afternoon we all went outside together with Nursery and enjoyed exploring each others environments.
World Book Day: Yesterday we had a lovely day meeting up with Year 6 and Year 4 to listen to stories. Year 6 decided they wanted to bring in a book for their buddy, it was so kind and thoughtful and all the children were excited to recieve their book.

and
Monday 7th April 2:15 - 3:15.

Show and Tell:
Please look below to see which day your child can share their show and tell news. We love to celebrate each child’s achievements in class. So we use show and tell as an opportunity to share things that they are proud of, or to share something that is important to them. Great show and tell examples are: sharing photos, bringing in certificates or medals, a souvenir from a trip out or something that they have made at home.
Important Reminders:
Polite reminder that we are a Nut free school. Please can you bring in healthy snacks please refer to the poster for suitable snacks, we always have fruit avalible too.
PE
Our PE days are Monday (this week) Tuesday (normally) (outside) and Friday (inside). On these days, children can come to school in their PE uniform and will remain in this for the day. We kindly ask that velcro trainers (white, black or navy) are worn as this allows the children to be indepoendent when taking their shoes off and putting them back on. Polite reminder that for health and safety reasons, no jewellery is to be worn on PE days. We kindly ask that this is removed at home before coming into school.Art T-shirt
Please can you bring in an art T-shirt, if you haven’t already, these help us keep uniforms as clean as possible.Jumpers: please can you check that your child has brought the right jumper or PE jacket home, they can easily get mixed up when bags are being packed, there are a few missing in class, thank you.
